Description
In 2003, Lenox Hill Hospital embarked on an ambitious campaign to thoroughly renovate and update its Emergency Department. After a multi-million dollar fundraising campaign, the Anne and Isidore Falk Center for Emergency Care at Lenox Hill Hospital opened its doors in January of 2007. More than 40,000 patients come to the Lenox Hill Hospital Emergency Department each year in need of urgent medical attention. An additional 24,000 patients receive treatment through the Lenox Hill Hospital ambulance service. The newly renovated Emergency Department has been doubled in size and provides state-of-the-art care.
The new Emergency Department features:
100% more space, for maximum privacy, comfort and efficiency
34 monitored beds
Larger waiting area for families and loved ones
New specialty treatment rooms for Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology
2 separate entrances, one for walk-in patients and another for those arriving by ambulance, with separate triage at each entrance to expedite access to care
State-of-the-art cardiac monitors
New, state-of-the-art, electronic patient information system, HealthMatics ED
Bedside laboratory testing
A new digital radiography suite
Bedside registration, to speed access to care and enhance patient privacy
Lenox Hill Hospital is a recognized designated Stroke Center by the New York State Department of Health
