HISTORY:

Latha Mathavan Polytechnic College Promoted by Karuppiah Pillai Theivanai Ammal Educational Trust during 1996-97 to provide a “HIGH CLASS QUALITY TECHNICAL EDUCATION” to the young boys and girls along with due care on personality development and moral discipline.

FOUNDER:

We are proudly introducing Dr.K.Mathavan,M.B.B.S.,PG.,DOH.,(Malaysia), the Founder cum Chairman Who promotes this IDEAL Technical College, with the moral support of Mrs.Latha Mathavan Who involves in every success of this project.

AFFILIATION:

The Latha Mathavan Polytechnic College is affiliated to Directorate of Technical Education Board, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Approval No.G.O.M.S.No.434 dated 15.7.1996 and also approved by All India Council for Technical Education, Govt of India, New Delhi, Approval No.F.73052-149(E)/ET/96 dated 23.5.1996.

LOCATION:

LMP College is located at Kidaripatti Village which is 24 Kms North of Madurai city and 12 Kms West of Melur and 3 Kms from the Famous, Alagar Koil Temple, on the Alagar Koil - Melur State roadway.

ENVIRONMENT:

The College campus has a Wide area of 35 Acres situated in a greeny belt surround by Alagarmalai Hills gives a natural beauty and a pleasant environment suits education. The College has spacious well-designed, adequately furnished ventilated and airy classrooms. All the laboratories of engineering and sciences are well equipped with the required equipments. The college is facilitated with 82.5 KVA capacity generators to ensure uninterrupted power source for the conduct of routine activities. The laboratories and workshops are fully equipped with state of art of facilities; particularly the Computer, CAD/CAM Lab, 2 MBPS Internet and Language Labs are value added assets to the Institution.

The institution is an ISO 9001: 2000 certified by internationally certification from TUV – SUD South Asia Pvt.Ltd.

SURGING AHEAD WITH NBA:

The management is ambitiously aiming for NBA accreditation setting its vision for further development of the institution in the long run both in the academics and in non-academic sectors.

STUDENTS:

There are 1400 students currently studying 6 Diploma faculties. Final Year students are given appropriate training to meet the challenges of the present global competitive environment. The students in general are constantly monitored with respect to their performance and discipline inside the campus. Individual files are maintained for every student. Parents are periodically briefed and kept update about the performance of their wards. Extra curricular and co-curricular activities are conducted throughout the year to develop the latent potentiality and mould the skills of the students to help them to improve their confidence level, personality, technical and communication skills etc., which are important to meet the industries’ expectations.

TEACHING FACULTY:

The college has well experienced qualified and dedicated teaching staff committed to the task of imparting quality technical education. The college has also qualified and experienced technical support staff members. The highly motivated faculty members tirelessly contribute for the constant development of the institution. The students’ teachers’ ratio is duly maintained as per the AICTE Norms.
